Come From Away, originally developed and produced by Sheridan College, Michael Rubinoff, and the Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP), will make its Broadway debut in spring 2017. In a heartbeat, 38 planes with 6,579 passengers were stranded in Gander, Newfoundland. The locals opened their hearts and homes, hosting this international community of strangers, spurring unexpected camaraderie in the extraordinary circumstances of September 11, 2001. After its Sheridan workshops in 2012 and 2013, Come From Away was selected for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre and the Goodspeed Opera House Festivals of New Musicals and it was optioned by Tony Award-winning producers, Junkyard Dog Productions.
