Robert is currently a Professor of Voice and Text at Sheridan. He has a Master of Arts Degree with Distinction in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London (UK) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Performance Acting from Ryerson University. He has taught on the faculties of the Canadian Opera Company, Royal Conservatory of Music – Learning through the Arts, and Young People ’ s Theatre. His guest teaching credits include; The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Ryerson University, and Canada ’ s National Ballet School. Robert is also a playwright, book writer and lyricist. His works include; Johnny Jackson and His Heavenly Passion , book/co-lyrics for both (Betty Mitchell nom) and In Flanders Fields Central Park Tango (Playwrights Guild nom), which was presented as part the inaugural Canadian Music Theatre Project at Sheridan. He was mentored by renowned music theatre writers, Leslie Arden and Jim Betts, and is proud to be a past participant of the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project in association with the American Music Theatre Project where he worked with Tony-Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tony-Award nominee Craig Carnelia.
